My passion for talent development began during my undergrad studies in my university's career center where I learned the importance of developing my professional skills. Landing my first corporate job less than one month post-grad, my interest in HR and Talent Acquisition expanded throughout my corporate career as I helped jobseekers of all levels secure roles aligned with their salary expectations. During this time, I noticed a recurring issue: many candidates, beyond existing racial and economical disparities, lacked key professional skills such as resume writing, interview techniques, and etiquette. As part of the hiring process, I wasn’t always able to offer direct guidance, leading to missed opportunities for otherwise eager candidates. I also noticed a disconnect between employers struggling to identify top talent and jobseekers unable to showcase their full potential. This inspired me to create Better Odds Academy, a firm dedicated to bridging this gap by providing tailored training to jobseekers, employers, and students to help them achieve their goals holistically.​​
